Thoughts for another day

Mar. 12, 2014.

Today's verse:  Ps. 144:3. LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him! (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further.  Thanks)

A look at this verse and it reminds you of how much God is in love with you and this after we realise the fact that we’re so fragile and weak.  Our knowledge and our strength are so little.  Looking at the various inventions and the marvels of science we have been able to create, including space ships and robots, we may easily be swayed by thinking we’re powerful.  But in reality, we’re so weak.  Yet God loves us and cares for us.

When we compare the greatness of God and His infiniteness, what is the power and the strength that we have.  It may be like comparing a little sardine and a big monster whale and even that would be wrong for who can measure the infinite One?  It takes me to a Word in Job, 40: 9, 10, ‘Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his? Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.’  This is what God asks Job when he contends with his friends that he has been slighted by God.  Upon hearing God, Job understands how small he is and how limited his domain as against that of God.

So must we my friend, understand that God is far, far above us.  His greatness is so vast that greatness itself fails to accommodate the Majesty of God.  Everything about God is so awesome that it takes us years to understand the least of it and His Dignity is so vast that getting a grasp of a minuscule part of it will take us ages.  But despite that God is so great that He considers us.  He yearns for us and loves us even more than we can think of or imagine.  How wonderful our God can be who considers not our little-ness but keeps us close to His bosom in an eternal embrace.  Now isn’t that just wonderful?
