Thoughts for another day
Jan. 29, 2014.
Today's verse: Philip. 3:10. I
want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of
sharing in his sufferings, (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read
further. Thanks)
Every Christian person who
is a true follower of Christ, even if blessed with tons of wealth and riches has
to, at one point of time or other, leave them all behind and get involved in
the work of the Lord for that is His Majesty’s command. It’s no advice nor choice, but a clear demand
to get into the field and sow the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today, the field is ripe as it was when
Jesus said, Luke 10:2, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the
workers are few.’ God is looking to see who will go and
reap. In some places we need to sow and
in other places we need to reap for surely the harvest is great and we’re laborers
in the vineyard of the Lord. In course
of time, He will reward us for we did His work and as He says, every worker deserves
his wages. The same power that
resurrected Jesus will work in us when we obey God’s will.
It’s in doing His work after forgetting
self that we’re fit to be in the choice place God has prepared for us. And when we’re sincere in going about God’s business,
the evil one will come to disturb and get us beaten or even killed. It’s only when persecuted that we can truly
say the Lord is working in us for it’s His confirmation that our work is
bringing in souls into the Kingdom and the devil seethes in rage and persecutes
us and we must remember, only efficacious work in God’s vineyard results in severe
persecution. We’re people who want to
share in Jesus’ suffering so that we learn to obey God and also know what the
Lord went through in His wonderful salvific work for us and by being with Him
in His work, we can rest assured that we’ll be with Him in eternal life.
