Thoughts for another day
Dec. 2, 2013.
Today's verse: 2 Cor. 3c, 4. God
of all encouragement, who encourages us in our every affliction so that we may
be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement
with which we ourselves are encouraged by God. (NAB)
(Pls. read the above before you read
further. Thanks)
When we’re down and out, there’s only
One Who is our Friend; the One Who is interested in us so much and who loves us
so much that He simply encourages us.
Despite the defeat, the trial, the tiredness and the exhaustion, God
encourages all who have accepted Him as their God and who stand before Him,
attentive to His Word and willing to listen to Him. He is there as a pillar for every person who
has lost the battle in the events that happened to him, but now with God as the
pillar, the war will be won by him, for when the Lord Almighty is with you, who
can stand against you.
Many may be the tribulations of the one
who believes in God and worships Him, yet, no tribulation will be able to fell
the child of God; for God’s Sovereign guarantee of protection is on Him. One may not know the kind of protection God
gives, for one may not even be aware, but every trouble that straddles the path
of the believer, has to contend with the God he believes in and that God, the
Abba Father, is Almighty. He is the
Creator and Sustainer of all; the Alpha and Omega and the Great Encourager and
Enabler. When God encourages and
enables, who can discourage or disable?
But brothers and sisters, when God encourages
us, and we’re able to stand up in His strength, then we must turn to our
neighbor who has perhaps fallen because of the weight of his own troubles, and
raise him up with the same encouragement God gives us. In that we will reflect the glory of our God
and proclaim His abundant love and mercy by which also He has prepared for us a
Kingdom, where we will dwell with His Son and His Holy Spirit; for His Son laid
down His life for us and redeemed us from the depths of hell and now in the
encouragement we give others, we rejoice for we allow His Holy Spirit to
demolish the ramparts of the devil and allow people to live lives in accord
with His will, which He fashioned for us even before the foundation of the
world. Beautiful is our God.
