Thoughts for another day
March 4, 2013.
Today's verse: Ps. 36:9. For
with thee is the fountain of
life: in thy light shall we see light. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
What will life be without God? For me, and I’m sure for you too, it’s just
inconceivable isn’t it? How can one stay without breath or
oxygen? That and even more is the significance
of God in our lives. In fact,
God is life and truly without God, there can be no life. The essence of living isn’t without God for how can a created thing even live
without the pattern of its Creator (particularly because it’s molded in
His form and image) and how can the pattern not have the being of the Creator
for the pattern is obviously spawned from the Creator’s being isn’t it? That’s the
reason why when we forsake the Lord, there’s an emptiness within and joy flees the
soul.
With God alone is the fountain of life for He alone is God and He
alone is the giver of life. In God alone is
the light with which we shall see for without God is no light except utter
darkness and gloom. With God in our
lives, we’re filled with light. There
may be errors in our ways and there may be offences with which we cloud our walk
with Him, yet when He is there, there’s the fragrance of life all around; the
incandescent but definite glow of living light.
God, though holy, (I won’t add a
superlative for holy means holy) yet tolerates our weaknesses and our
imperfections…why? Because He loves
us. He loves us so much that at times when
I think on this, I’m not able to understand why He loves us so. All I can see is His Face clothed with mercy…like
no other mercy I’ve ever seen or known, and all I can see Him telling me is, ‘walk
in My light for in it, you will live.’
