Thoughts for another day

March 25, 2013.

Today's verse: Sirach 34:14. Whoso feareth the Lord shall not fear nor be afraid; for he is his hope. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further.  Thanks)

The fear of the Lord is everything that’s good for man for with it comes life and also the cloak of God’s blessing, His protection and provision.  When a man is in awe of God and is rightly disposed to Him, then his mind is used of the Lord to the disclosure of knowledge wherewith the man can go into the world and seek to earn with the knowledge that God has given and he is able to earn well and fend for himself.

When a man has the right perspective about God, he realizes how big God is and how small everything else is.  That’s the time when like they say, a man can look at the problem he faces straight in the eye and not look at it as if it’s anything, rather warn it, pointing to his God and declaring how big God is.  Eventually, the problem will be dwarfed by God and made to disappear because God was exalted by the man despite the problematic situation.  God loves when a man can praise Him when he is in difficulty with not much hope, for one can only glorify God when one projects Him as one’s all, no matter what.

For the man who fears the Lord, there’s no other fear that can grip.  For, because of his reverence to the Lord, the Lord is pleased and guards him.  There’s no harm that can harm him as long as God is there and God becomes his hope as the man realizes that God is able to work wonderfully in his life.  Thus is the Scripture above really alive in him who is attuned to God and knows God and has a healthy fear of Him.
