Today's verse: Jn. 12:24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (KJV)

I just finished reading 'My Calvary Road' by Roy Hession and throughout the book, I saw his message, is for me. It speaks of the brokenness a man needs to move toward the glory, Christ has prepared for Him. Roy has illustrated this brokenness so beautifully in himself and he speaks powerfully of its necessity to put a person in a right relationship with God, no matter who he is – whether a lay leader or a church elder or just an ordinary Christian. And we also see how this brokenness can turn the tide against you and bring you to scorn before people making you lose your fame, your prestige and what not.
His book is a kaleidoscope of the wonder of the flowing blood of Jesus Christ which destroys the filth in the heart of a man. The aura of Grace lights up the core message of the book and honestly who else but Roy Himself is seen as a living example of a man dwelling in God's Grace. My interaction with Roy through the book, has been in my mind, one of best interactions I've had with the many voices God sends my way in His cleansing process. And this isn't about Roy, rather about brokenness or said differently, 'in dying to self that man lives and that life is in the Savior Jesus Christ.'
How beautiful the picture of a man who approaches God, broken in every sense of the word, dead to himself and the world, only living to grab the foot of the Cross and make it up to Paradise, not by self worthiness for there's none in man, but rather by the Master saying, 'today you shall be with Me in Paradise.' Dear Christian, no matter who you are or where you are, listen in and learn that God's choicest blessings fall on the man fallen on the floor, writhing in deep burden of his sin, convicted by the Holy Spirit! Oh the emptying of self and disrespect for personal ego is such a wonderful process in life for only then will one be filled with the holy perfume of God's forgiveness and receive His mercy. Behold, only then can one say, 'Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation.'
