Thoughts for another day

April 2, 2012

Today's verse: Jn. 14:26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

As a Christian, a follower of our Precious Savior Jesus Christ, am I alone in the world to fend for myself against the wile ways of the enemy of souls?  Do I find myself with no counsel when needed most?  Am I in agony and there's no comfort?  I ask these questions because there're times in our lives when it's like, you're in the middle of a dark tunnel and the dark is eating you and honestly you don't know where to turn and what to do.  The rigors of living itself can weigh too heavy on us when the tempests of life smash our comfort centers and fling our worlds into disarray.

As Christians however, our Scripture comes as hope, or shall I say renewed hope, given us by our own Bridegroom, the King whom we follow and love, Jesus Christ.  He has given the Gift of His Holy Spirit which is far above any other gift we may need and yet how little we know about Him, the most delightful and wonderful third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit.  He teaches us all things about God! When the storms of life seem to be pulling us down, we may never think of what God can do if we but yell out to Him, as Peter did, 'save me Lord' and was instantly saved by Jesus.  And when we think all is lost, it is the Beloved Holy Spirit who gently whispers and tells us to call upon the Lord.  We do; and the storm passes by with not even a scratch having gained hold of us.

My friend, forget about your trouble for a moment and think:  The mighty Holy Spirit, the Supreme Power of the universe, God most Sovereign and Awesome is there for us, given by the One who loves us so much that He gave Himself for us.  Yes, if you could tell your problem, that you have the Holy Spirit with you, how little that problem will seem before Him?  Indeed, the Holy Spirit brings to our minds all that God is capable of doing which means, ALL, and He fills us with confidence telling us that, since we're led by Him, we're sons of God (Ro. 8:14) and our safety and peace of mind is not God's concern alone, but also His responsibility.  And God will redeem and deliver.
