Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Josh. 10:8. Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
If you're truly a friend of Christ, the above promise is also for you; the same promise Christ made to Joshua, when Joshua was stacked against an array of kings on the battle front. And vanquish them he did, for the Lord of hosts, the God Almighty, Joshua's constant refrain and refuge was with Him and God fulfilled the promise He made to Joshua.
Our problems today may not be 'war-type'; they could simply be: our own weaknesses and passions that lead us to sin. And it's possible we hate sin with all our hearts for we know they offend the Lord our God but are really helpless against the immense pleasure sin seemingly offers. We're taken in by the mirages they lure us to and then trapped, by the vicious webs they weave, like various kinds of addictions from which we're just unable to free ourselves.
Our battle might be in just living good Christian lives; of not rumor mongering, lying or getting angry. It could be trying to keep ourselves morally right before God despite all the attractions we face every day, at home, in the form of an 'adorable' neighbor or in the office where a colleague seems to take extra fancy to you. It could even be the disease of lethargy and procrastination, or simple thievery. Yes, and it could be a threat on our peace from that man in our building who's rather intimidating and perverted. But, in everything, look up to Him. Pray and cease worrying for I tell you, God's promise holds good in the face of any storm we're subject to. And believe me, I can say this from personal experience, He will save and bring you through, just trust Him.
