Thoughts for another day

February 24, 2012

Today's verse: 2 Cor. 7:1. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.  (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Today, more than ever, children of God, heirs of salvation, have to echo the cry of holiness upon the earth and live holy lives, for there's no other way they can have the promises of Christ, save they be pure and holy in His sight for He said, “I tell you the truth, unless your righteousness is greater than the Pharisees and teachers of religious law, under no circumstances will you enter the Kingdom of Heaven" Mt. 5:20.  Needless to say, the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees was hypocritical and like white-washed tombs, Mt. 23:27; displaying outer piety while they were murderous and evil on the inside.  Check whether inadvertently, you profess 'pharisaical' righteousness.

The cry for holiness has been ringing loud and clear in my ears for a long time now and I dread to keep it to myself for truly the Day of Judgment is to come soon.  I have to let this cry out so those who hearken to the Word of the Lord and do his bidding, though he be snatched into death, he shall be saved, for he abided by God's Word despite the clamor of the world seeking him do otherwise.  So too are you warned my friend that unless you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, are holy and your heart is found free of guilt, you shall not climb the mountain of the Lord nor stand in His holy place, Ps. 24:3.
