Thoughts for another day
February 23, 2012
Today's verse: Ps. 14:2,3. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
God looked down on the children of men to see if there were any that understood and sought Him. He found none, for they had all moved from His statutes and become noxious to Him. Yea, David says in this psalm, He found none who did good! Surprising isn't it? God found none, nay not one?
Now, when God does the same, what will He see? I'm sure the same thing and even more filth. I remember Paul saying, 'all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God' Rom. 3:23. It's easy for me to write, adopting a 'holier than thou' attitude; but really, before Him, maybe I'm a bigger sinner. And sadly there're others who profess to be workers in his vineyard, and without being judgmental I'll say, are as sinful as you and I are. The sad part is very few are aware and acknowledge it and even fewer do something about it. Perhaps, this reflection comes as an alarm to remind us that it's time we pulled up our socks before God and set about making things right for our souls.
Remember, the time we have to repent and change and be in His circle of light is now. It's the only time we have for we don't know when it will end and so I urge you my friends, turn back and return, even like the prodigal son, to our Father in heaven. Let's place this, our weakness of sinning before Him and beg for His Grace to be holy, so that when it's time to stand before His Throne, we can be confident of His loving arm around us, saying…come my beloved to the Kingdom prepared for you.
