Thoughts for another day

November 3, 2011

Today's verse: Eph. 2:10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Look at our above Word carefully.  As I write, powered by the Holy Spirit, I ask myself, do I really do the good works to which I'm His workmanship in Jesus my Lord?  The answer is no; so I again ask myself, am I qualified to write a reflection on this precious Word?  Here it's a 'yes'; surprising but true, because the qualifier of us, sinful and insincere men, is God the Father who created us before the beginning of the world, both you and me, to be in His service and promote His kingdom to the lost and perishing.

Today's Scripture tells us we're His creation, begotten in Christ Jesus to do good work which God wants us to and we should walk in them.  Yea, that's why we're created and that's the principal motive of our lives.  We're here for a purpose and no matter how 'un-purposeful' life may seem because of the rut we've gotten ourselves into, it yet remains that we need to do His work.

Many men don't know the purpose of life and many philosophize that in the whirl of time, we transcend from immaterialism into materialism with a form and a psyche; to live and then meld into the cosmos after their time is over.  This is utter nonsense; philosophy can't explain the working of the mind, no matter how hard it tries.  The key question is, 'Who decides what time you become 'material' and when do you depart?' But by the above philosophy, many are under a delusionary belief that they need only live a good life thus they shut out the exhortation that comes from the pure Word of God, contaminating and separating themselves from the 'Word', they get sullied and wither into oblivion. But God's Word remains, unsullied, pure and bold even today.  So let's hearken to it and do the good that we as His creation in Christ ought to do.
