Thoughts for another day

March 7, 2011

Today's verse: 2 Tim. 2:13. if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

In the journey of life, many things happen to us and not all are always wonderful. Strangely, when good things happen, we don't absorb ourselves so much that we can carry them along when the not so good things come. But when we are faced with failure, we are so absorbed in it that even when some good happens, we remain drowned in sadness. Lifting ourselves from the morass of sadness can be a herculean task at times and it makes most of us wilt.

In a state of being bent, we often curse, or to use a milder word, blame God for all the ills that have taken place in our lives. And as more and more of this happens, our faith in Him melts away, so much so that over a period of time, we aren't ready to believe Him for some minor things too. In this scenario what happens to the transaction that God has for this person as regards blessings connected with faith? Does God withhold blessings from the one who has broken faith; who believes in God no more?

No, God is so beautiful and loving that even when we deny His very existence, He gently puts His hand over our heads. My friend, it's at that time that the touch of His hand is more pronounced than at any other time, although we cannot see it. It's at this time that God blesses us more than at any other time. This may seem strange to us who always react opposite to the way God does. But He is God who is always for us and today, we have the confidence that even if we are unfaithful to Him, He is faithful. His faithfulness is His identity and He remains faithful because He cannot deny Himself. All glory be to God.
