Thoughts for another day
October 13, 2010
Today's verse: 2 Pet. 2:9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Are you in diverse temptations, trials or some process of difficulty that seemingly is too much for you to bear? Are you tired and out of steam with not an iota of energy to step forward. Are you too exhausted and down to the dregs with pain and sorrow and don't know how to survive the next day; or, is life so burdensome that you want to live no more? Then there is good news for you: Your God will deliver you out of the situation you are in and bring you out to the green land of promise and He will set you on seats so comfortable, you'll cherish His touch all your lives.
You know if you fear Him and are devoted to Him, He cares for you. In every situation He will bring you out when you cry out to Him. He says 'when you walk through the fire, the flames will not touch you nor will they scorch you to your harm.' He also says 'when you walk through the waters, they'll not overwhelm you nor will you drown in them'; for He never sleeps nor slumbers and His eye is always on those devoted to Him, to encourage them. Countless are the times, when His people have escaped severe accidents and other catastrophes because of His hand on them. Oh, God yea, He works in ways we cannot see or comprehend. His ways may seem shaky to us, yet in time, we see the firmness of His Hand and through it His awesome love for us.
God is calling you today to just trust Him in His Word and look up to Him. See His work around you to get that feeling of His greatness and abundant creative power. Look at the sky He has spread before you, adorned with the great twinklers at night and the fearsome light during day. Look at the ocean and the huge mountains, so imposingly large and full of energy and remember that they are as mere toys in His hand for we know the oceans roar at His sound shifting quickly at His approach; and the mountains, they just melt before Him. Ah, then you'll know the God you serve and you will join with me in glorifying and praising Him; falling before Him in worship.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
