Thoughts for another day

May 26, 2010

Today's verse: Is. 26:21. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Imagine: the LORD God is so powerful and so complex is His knowledge that everything is known to Him. He is aware of all the thoughts of man and beast. Our Scripture today says that He will come out of His place to punish the sinners and the earth will lay bare before Him disclosing the blood of those killed. How’s that possible one might ask? It is possible for God is able to see everything that we do at different times all at the same time. He sees all our misdoings at the same time and He is too intense to miss anything. His eyes roam around the earth watching over the denizens of the planet and in a glance He scans the universe to see the wrongdoing of men.

In Genesis, we learn how even inanimate things speak to God. When Cain kills Abel, God comes to Cain asking Him about Abel to which Cain replies, am I my brother’s keeper. Then God points out to his crime telling him that Abel’s blood is crying out to Him! You see, God hears the cry of the blood of Abel; and even the drop of a heart beat of His creation. All things are clear before God. Even darkness is not darkness for He sees it as light. I’ve tried to fathom His immense intelligence and I’ve learnt that God knows all our thoughts, whether they be good or bad. You know, when an arrow splices the air and moves to its target, God sees the air move in both directions allowing the arrow to pass and when it has passed though we see nothing, God know an arrow passed there.

So great is the Lord, He can draw the exact line where the light of a small candle ends and darkness begins. He can hear the cry of every cell in our body whether they be alright or sick. Even the sigh of the innocent is clear to Him. He is a long suffering God and therefore doesn’t act immediately at the wrong, but gives the wrongdoer ample time for correction, but then He wrecks vengeance and who can bear His wrath? When faced with injustice and wrong, we might be inclined to say that God isn’t listening or seeing, but that’s far from the truth, God is aware and He sees even that which is not visible to the human eye and His anger is kindled against all those who harm the poor, the innocent and the helpless. Just trust Him to set things right and He will do it for you.
