Thoughts for another day

April 23, 2010

Today's verse: Jer. 23:24. Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Our Scripture today is one of those times when God speaks about Himself and His awesomeness. It tells us that God fills all in the universe. He reigns and is above everything. He reigns supreme and everything is subject to Him. God tells us that there is none who can hide in a place that He can’t see, for He can see every place and everything at the same time. God’s Word says that darkness is like light to Him and night shines like day unto the Most High.

God’s awesomeness covers all and no man can be above the reach of His hand. He knows even the minutest of the movements of creation and is aware of the trillions and quadrillions of movement that happens in the universe. God is so amazing that He works the order of the universe at just a Word and everything goes according to His command. God sets everything and everyone in motion and He orders their lifecycles and other things pertaining to it. God is aware of everything.

When we go and commit some wrongdoing, we may think we can hide from Him, but can we really? When Adam and Eve sinned, they tried to hide themselves from His Presence. But He knew. The Bible very nicely says, He asked them whether they had disobeyed Him, even when He knew they had and this is so wonderful about God. He doesn’t accuse, He makes us confess to our faults with our own mouths and we understand how foolish we have been. God is so beautiful, that we should have no need to go away from Him anywhere, rather with reverence we must come to Him often and fall at His feet and worship Him because He is so great and so beloved.
