Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day
Feb. 16, 2010
Today's verse: Mt. 10:33. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
In the world today, it’s become fashionable to make statements that Christ means nothing in our lives. Recently, a female Hollywood actor, while accepting the Academy award criticized others who while receiving it, thanked God. She said, Christ has no place in her life and it was definitely not due to Him that she won! This gives rise to a discussion primarily because one’s thinking may suggest that Christ may not be involved in giving an award for a Hollywood film and I beg to differ because this thinking is flawed, for God allows things to happen across the universe and without His nod, nothing can happen. But, it isn’t this we’re talking about. It’s the very idea of discounting Christ from her life that is to be noted. Why did she say what she said? It’s because she felt it necessary to mention obliquely that Christ wasn’t needed in her life; to deny Him as it were, of His deity.
Closer home, when it comes to the grind, what do we do when asked about our relationship with Christ. Are we willing to declare we’re His and our life is a result of His giving and sustaining us? Are we proud to take His Name at all times in our lives? We Catholics have a custom; whenever there’s an occasion to celebrate, we call someone a little mature in the Lord to pray. And if the poor person goes beyond a little time, the people get jittery. Do you know why? Because today, Christ has become inconvenient; He interferes in our time you see! In our fierce ambition to conquer the world and gain recognition and fame, we’ve discovered that Jesus Christ is certainly inconvenient.
On the other hand when I see people of other faiths, no matter if they serve no gods, so vociferous when it concerns their gods, I begin to think about our own celebrations. Consider this, don’t the Hindu people have loud celebrations all over during their festivals in India? But our celebrations, well, there’s no joy and it’s because we’ve not known our God. Forget about loudness, there is no customary clapping too. In fact people wonder why the Charismatics and Pentecostals have to praise so loudly. Is God deaf, they ask? It’s not about God being deaf, but about our praising Him and the language our body speaks when we praise Him. Praise to God is the real reason why we’re here on earth and today’s scripture serves a warning from God Himself. Think and introspect.
