Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day
Feb. 4, 2010
Today's verse: Lk. 12:50. But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! (NIV – copyright acknowledged)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
God’s people are different. The reason being, they’ve great fervor to do His work. There’re many people out there who know they’ve been called by God to do His work. Now to just begin doing His work, without His setting you to, is easy because anyone can do some things He is pleased with for e.g. feeding the hungry, assisting the poor, visiting the sick and for that matter even preaching in small ways. Many even start doing these things for they feel they’ve been called to do His work and also because they believe that since they’re called, they must act immediately. But, growth doesn’t happen and frustration sets in. Then they settle for whatever little growth they have thinking that that’s all there is to it and God has a limited Ministry for them! In this way, they lose out on a big Ministry; why? simply because they were hasty.
One thing I’ve realised is that when God assigns you a Ministry to serve Him, He needs you to both wait on Him and wait for Him. For years you may see nothing yet you need to hope in wait. Look at Moses, perhaps the greatest servant of God apart from Christ (even Christ had to wait 30 years to go out when He could certainly have gone out at 18; didn’t He know scripture well and wasn’t He quite wise even at 12?) even he had to wait 40 years to begin His work. Someone once said, the longer you wait for God to begin your Ministry, the greater it is going to be. Don’t worry thinking during the wait, your interest might flag. It won’t if you’ve kept your hope in Him and lay hold of this scripture, ‘He who has called you is faithful and He will accomplish it’ 1 Th. 5:24.
You may have this burning desire each day to go out and do the work, but you need to hold back and keep the hope. Today’s scripture defines the great inner desire to move for His work and not be at rest till, you go and complete it, yet you need to wait and when in God’s time you go out, you will bear great fruit and your Ministry will grow geometrically and bring many souls to Jesus for His glory alone.
