Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day
Jan. 29, 2010
Today's verse: James 2:19. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Last Tuesday, I met a person in a friend’s house. My friend introduced him as someone deeply interested in spirituality and just arrived from a deep spiritual experience. This chap, a Catholic, does as most Catholics do: accept compromises in the pure Word of God. Mind you, I too am Catholic, yet I say this because of the adulteration of the faith in Christians, particularly Catholics. This happens by listening to various persons on TV, in the church, outside and elsewhere, rather than reading the One book giving you the whole truth: The Bible.
Now this person’s spirituality is a mix of philosophy, psychology and what he says meditation, a potent combination which the world terms ‘spirituality’; of course with no Holy Spirit and where there is no Holy Spirit, there is no spirituality. I’m glad they didn’t have transcendental meditation else he’d be even more thrilled at the experience. The center he’d gone to for his experience is run by a ‘great’ hindu religious teacher and guru and he was even more excited to tell that he met the guru himself over there. My, my, what an experience was his refrain and he so much reeked of the experience he wanted to tell everybody. Sad, for he’d never have this to say of Jesus Christ who’s the Guru of Gurus and Teacher of teachers!
I posed him a question, have you met Jesus Christ. Well… you know Jesus is also like Buddha and Krishna, etc. and if you know them, you know Him! Wow he was thrilled at his own intelligence. But have you read the Bible? No, it doesn’t interest me. Then, I asked him a few basic questions telling him to answer them to himself and left it at that. Later when he’d gone, I told my friends how true Paul’s statement of scripture was when he said, ‘But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.’ I realise today how true it is and how powerfully the devil blinds our minds. Even me he has bound telling me when I sin, it’s okay if you sin once in a while, God understands that. Is it true, how can God who is so pure understand that His servant sins? His mercy takes over so that I’m alive and write this. Same goes for you too my friend. I'm glad you believe in one God and you do well in Him. Be very careful about these pseudo spiritualists for you never know, they might have you believe one day that they and you are god and the irony is that you may believe!
