Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day
Jan 4, 2010
Today's verse: Jer. 2:5. Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
The Bible throws up many facets of the Lord which are proper for us to reflect on and think about, for they give a full picture of our Lord’s nature, His pain and sorrow which He keeps in His heart and of course, His tremendous love for us. It’s just that sometimes in our haste to ‘finish’ a particular book, we miss upon these ‘pearls’ of our Lord’s nature.
Times are when I sit and ponder hard, reflecting on God’s love for us. Yes, I get vexed with the Lord when the answer to my prayer takes ages to come. You know it can get particularly frustrating at times; I can sure understand Joseph’s predicament when he dreams he’ll be above his brothers and parents and then suddenly finds himself a slave! Truly it can be frustrating; but then they are the ways of God and there’s hardly anything I can do about them except be a little upset with Him and I believe He likes that to an extent as it shows that I trust Him and go Him even when things fail (but of course doing it often would be no-no).
In the same vein is my coming upon our verse of today in which He, the Lord of the Universe, God Most High is asking, what iniquity they found in Him! Can you believe it? It seems unbelievable that He even asks this question; for what or who are we that He should give an account of His actions to us. When I look at my own acts and stupidities before Him, I cannot but fall at His feet and ask for pardon. God cannot be faulted. If He has done something, He knows well the reasons why He did it and He has all of time before Him at once and He knows what is right, unlike us who don’t even know what our actions will bring us the next day.
My friend ultimately, it’s this love of God for us by which He seeks to sit and argue our case of anger with Him. And it is the same love that gave us Jesus. The shame and humiliation that Jesus underwent spells the extent to which God will go to give us the best. Can we then find any iniquity in Him to move away?
