Today's verse: Ps. 37:23,24. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. (KJV)

Goodness is a precious quality in the eyes of the Lord. He Himself is a good God and He loves it when His people are good or strive to achieve goodness. A good person sees good in all things and never has a situation where he will falter or be found wanting in character. He is led by God into doing the things that please Him and God lifts him up before others.

For the person who is good or to define it clearly, right in God’s sight, His choicest blessing overflow abundantly. He may have problems for there is none who doesn’t go through the dark alleys once in a while. But God upholds him in those times and guides his footsteps everywhere. Never does God allow the upright to perish wantonly.

The book of Proverbs tells us that the evil bow before the good and the wicked at the gates of the upright, Pro. 14:19. This is the doing of the Lord whereby the good man never need fear anybody when He is in the right for the power of God is with Him. Now is it really difficult to be good? Yes it is, but not impossible for goodness comes from the fountain of God’s Grace and anyone who drinks of this fountain does good before Him and God then takes care of everything in his life.
