Thoughts for another day

Nov. 23, 2009

Today's verse: Jer. 5:25. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Have you anytime thought: I have prayed and prayed and asked the Lord, yet have received nothing? One possible reason, I’m not saying it’s the only one, could be that your sin is blocking the blessing and it’s possible you aren’t even aware of it.

The big block to blessings in our lives are our iniquities. The reason is something like this: Blessings need to have the presence of God, because He grants the blessing through His mighty hand and it comes to us. When we are in sin, God’s presence shuns us, for remember, God is sheer holiness and He cannot be dwelling with the unholy, which is us. Because of this, we lack His presence and therefore, His blessing.

That’s why in many retreats and crusades, etc. the one thing the preacher urges is to confess our sins and then in a state of purity claim the blessing of God. We’ve seen this happen so many times we can rest assured that it’s true. In your life too, if you aren’t receiving from the hand of God, check deep inside. If you can’t remember, request the Holy Spirit of God to allow you to know of any unforgiven sin. Once you know this sin and ask for His pardon, then thak… you will receive what you’ve asked for. It’s may be possible that a sin isn’t blocking your blessing, so you don’t need to confess anything, but it’s always better to give it a deep thought and remove it out of the way, just to be sure, God’s Presence is with you.
