Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day
Oct. 23, 2009
Today's verse: Ps. 145:15. The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
We humans have reached such scale of development and innovation that it is but natural we think we can do it all. Just read the newspapers and you’ll understand what I mean. Bold statements made by presidents, state leaders, bureaucrats, technocrats, businessmen, etc. And looking at their statements, we feel so strong and solid no? But then comes along a hurricane and not only does it rip apart the foundations of mega cities but a whole lot of our confidence too.
Look at the growth forecasts in burgeoning economies and huge organizations. They are projected at will as if all factors governing this growth can be controlled by man. They don’t provide for the ‘God’ factor because in today’s world ‘what can God do?’ is the cliché. Why do we need God and who is God anyway are the avowed questions of the big ones. If we can do it, why do we need God, is their assertion. But then comes drought and there’s famine, no seed, no crop and no food. This brings us to our knees, but the event passes away and we are back to our bragging selves.
Today’s verse affirms the presence of a good and kind God. The psalmist says that the eyes of all wait upon the Lord! So it should be. He further affirms that in due season, God gives them meat (food). My friend, the world talks big, but who cares for the world. One act of God and it can be finished. It’s for the sake of those who are right before God like you, that the world isn’t destroyed, that year after year the rains are abundant and crops grow giving food. All this is possible only with God. I tell you the supremacy of the devil’s agents: the technocrats, the big ones, is soon going to end and the treasures of the world will be transferred into the hands of the children of God. It’s then that man will again look upon God’s mercy to provide and then glory to His Name alone will ring from one corner of the earth to the other.
