Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day
June 18, 2008
Today's verse: Job. 6:4. For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me. (NIV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Sometimes the weight of life weighs down rather heavily. So much so that we are bent with the weight and know not what to do. Every individual at some point or other experiences this, besides we always think our weight is heavier than the others’. At this time, the environment around us is rather gloomy and the mood is very somber. Besides, God is the first at whom we point our fingers, as the One who has been the sole cause of the misery!
What we see here is the grief of Job expressed as forced reconciliation with what God has done in his life albeit, morosely. Job has had a reversal of fortune in such a short time and swift manner that for any human being to experience the same would be a very exceptional experience, catastrophic to say the least and of course Job is a little bitter. The verse is Job’s ‘statement of fact’ of the matter, as is.
As Christians, God looks at a slightly different response from us. God wants us to know that He is with us. He re-assures us very often in ways very strange; even in the manner the blue sky sometimes reminding us of the enormity of God as we feel His hand stretching out the white clouds as they float gently there as on a blue canvas and the birds gliding majestically and the so many things that always seem to take our breath away at the beauty that the Almighty has spread before us.
We may be laden with much baggage but Christ our Lord tells us to go to Him for rest. He understands our every problem and is quietly standing beside us to let us know that all He needs to work in our lives is faith in Him. Today, I would urge you my friend, no matter what ditch you are in or whatever the needle in your back, turn to Him and He will guide your steps and bring you out of your situation.
