Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Gen. 35:5. and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
In the Word of God one gets acquainted with some unknown facets of God. But there is one key thing and that is, they who worship the Lord and trust Him, never need fear anything else.
Just prior to our verse above in the Bible, we see that because of the act of Simeon and Levi, Jacob falls into ill will with the people in the neighboring land. As they move on, we read that God’s terror falls on the people around so that Jacob and all that is his, are safe. You see, when God is our refuge, we have none to worry of. He guards us. He protects and sustains us. He becomes our God of shelter and a cloak of peace envelops us. Allegiance to God sets His force on our lives such that our tasks seem simple and the journey becomes a breeze. Not that there won’t be the usual hiccups or the small hurts. But overall there will be a semblance of stability and tranquility.
I’ve heard this story of a young woman in New York, who gets held up at work one evening and is late to go home. She had to pass through a park in which roamed, junkies, drug pushers, muggers and the shadiest elements among humanity. At the time she had to walk through, all these elements were out in full force and no sensible person would dare go that way. She had to because she had to go home. Being a firm believer in God, she took His name and walked past the park. Even while she was going by, she could see some of the meanest looking men there and lecherous eyes gloating at her. The next morning, when she picked up the newspaper, she read the news of a woman; gang raped and murdered in the same park a wee bit after she had crossed. The article also requested people to come forward as eyewitness. She went to the cop-house and with her description of some men they were able to round up a few suspects and eventually found the men who had committed the crime.
This woman requested the cops to allow her to meet the men. She was allowed and the moment one of them saw her, his eyes tweaked in recognition. She asked him whether he had seen her in the park that night to which he nodded. The detective then asked him why they had not touched her. The answer stumped them all. ‘How can we touch a woman surrounded by seven huge men!!!’ Seven, huge men??? There were no men with me exclaimed the woman… Later as she sat in prayer, her mind went back to that moment when all she did as she walked past the park was, clutch the hand of God and God had sent His angels to protect her! Oh, beautiful Father.
So it is with us who trust God. For truly, when we believe in the Name of the God of Jacob and trust Him, He is there for us and meets our needs. Blessed be His Name.
