Thoughts for another day

Mar. 25, 2008

Today's verse: Col. 1:3. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

In raising His Son Jesus from the dead, God plucked us out of the muck we had fallen into and given us His eternal Kingdom as an inheritance. God has been gracious to us and has not allowed sin to separate us from Him; as the great apostle Paul says toward the end of ch. 8 of Romans, ‘who shall separate us from the love of God in Christ?None whatsoever can come in-between us and the Almighty’s great affection for us.

This can mean many things to us. As sinful human beings, it is a signal of great hope. It tells us that even in the dusk of life, there is the assurance of seamless Grace enough to take us into His bosom; not that because of His Grace we should go to Him at the last minute, but just in case our voyage takes us through shores of fancy and illusions of grandeur, the end of which is destruction, even then will His Hand reach out to us.

Our God loves us so much that even though by His decree we were to die, by the same God are we saved because He paid the price for the sin we committed. He was the one upon whom was thrust the guilt of our sin and He bore it with no grumbling. Oh the greatness of our Lord that not only did He come to give us life, but also came to give us the knowledge that with Him there is none the impossible.

Today, you may be at your wit’s end with a problem plaguing your depth. The pressure may be telling on you. You may be in the dumps. Perhaps, your sins are choking and draining you. But fret not for He is with you and our Father in Heaven has already snatched you from the power of darkness and has lovingly given you the Kingdom of His dear Son. Just stand on the ramparts of faith and move forward. He will fight for you and restore you. You will hear the bugle of triumph eventually.
