Thoughts for another day

Jan. 2, 2008

Today's verse: Is. 40:28. Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

There are times when one needs to take stock of one’s situation and know self. In the process the most important thing I’d consider is, one, my relationship with God and two, understand who is my God. Why this thing about God when taking stock of oneself? Because, not even an iota of breath would be in me if it were not because of Him. So therefore, when I take stock, it has to be primarily me and my God and Him before me because He was before me and He created me, and He props me up.

Today’s verse is in a way, stopping by and taking stock. Giving a fresh insight into who this wonderful God is. He is everlasting…the LORD and Creator of the ends of the earth…He is never weary and His knowledge is beyond scrutiny. Which means that He is far above everything and His immensity is beyond compare.

Now, why do we have to bear the learning of the scripture in mind? That’s because Jesus has called Him Father and Jesus has also asked us to call Him Father. And if He is our Father, then with His greatness, do we need worry or be anxious? He is our Father and we know He is our Father because His Son who came down on earth has told us this. As His child, we need not worry about anything because He is our provider and our Guardian.

As life goes by, we may have a number of thorns coming our way. But at the same time, we must remember that He is watching over us closely. We who believe in His Son are very precious to Him and He is our defence against our enemy. Having learnt this, we must move ahead in life confidently, and giving Him room at every opportunity to work in us His work and bring glory unto His Name.
