Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Acts 2:28. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.' (NIV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
In the above verse we find a profound declaration of a person in deep relationship with God. Of a person who has learnt the ways of God and revels in following them for he knows they are profitable. This is also a one who enjoys God’s presence and is joyful in it. It is David who says it and we know how close David was with God and the wonderful things God did in his life.
But for you and me, how important are knowledge of knowing the paths of life set out by God. Do we travel in them regularly? Are we conversant with them? Are we happy about them and lead others in traveling those paths? I know that walking on the straight paths of God daily, is a daunting task, for our carnal nature is in rebellion with God’s ways and usurps all our good intentions. But then again, we cannot go along with God by our own strength but only by His Grace and His strength. Are we tuned to this?
As to His presence, have we experienced the glorious presence of God? We cannot behold it because of our flesh and sinful nature but we can feel His presence as if it were real when we seek Him with all our hearts. God’s presence is sublime and an ocean of peace and joy. In His presence, nothing negative remains. Everything is transformed to purity and a sense of possibility, no matter the extent of difficulty. His presence can be in the godown or in the palace or anywhere. It particularly loves a heart desperate for communion with Him. In His presence, the soul of man can rejoice in limitless happiness and be lifted to sing like the angels in heaven.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
