Thoughts for another day

Nov. 13, 2007

Today's verse: Nu. 11:21. And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

We are so much a part of the world where impossibility and lack reign that we just refuse to believe in the majestic, all possible, filling and awesome power of God. We might have witnessed miracles galore in the past. We would have even had God speaking to us; yet our human nature is such that when faced with a block, we question God and say, ‘Oh, this block looks so big, I don’t think you can move it.’ Why only we, Moses, a man who had witnessed the amazing power of God at close quarters had the above poser to God!

That’s why Jesus said, ‘The Spirit wills, but the flesh is weak.’ And it is this, which pulls us down. So many times God has been with us and we know it; yet, come the very next problem and we doubt God. Our prayer to Him often is, ‘Lord, last time You helped me. This time, I don’t know whether You will!’ Now tell me, how can you expect an answer to your prayer. The other amazing thing is when people tell me, ‘brother, I don’t know how to pray, you pray for me!!!’

My friend, God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He changeth not. His mercies are fresh each morning and His love is constant. His comfort is warm as ever and His hand to stretch forth and give is yet the same. Are we willing to take Him at His promise and keep faith that come what may, we will look only into those eyes when tossed by the billows of life?
