Thoughts for another day

July 25, 2007

Today's verse: Is. 30:15. In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

In appropriating God’s power, the key ingredients are given by God Himself as above. Essentially, they mean that we just need to shut up and relax and allow God to work in our lives.

When a crisis comes our way, we are in a state of extreme disturbance. The disturbance being directly proportional to what we consider the crisis to be. In this disturbance, the virtue of the true believer is to bring about a silence. A kind of, coming back to God. Remember that God usually makes Himself know in stillness (Ps. 46;10).

God, also needs us to be confident in Him. If we are confident in God, knowing at the back of our minds that He is all-powerful and He loves us; and also that God’s will is that we are with the ‘good’ all the time, else Jesus would not be healing and delivering most of the time in His Ministry; and we keep this as the anchor of our lives, we find God pleased with us and then of course His power is imminent.

I would exhort you my friend today to live in the way that God wants us to live. To come back to Him and rest (Jesus told His disciples to retreat and rest awhile). Then be still in your life so you will feel His presence. Be confident that He will deliver. Be aware that you are His child and a precious one at that. Be also aware that He loves you beyond your every comprehension. In this will you fulfill His dictates to you and His power will be unleashed in your life and you will stand in faith and glorify His Name.
