Thoughts for another day

June 29, 2007

Today's verse: Lam. 3:40. Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

The most wonderful words a repentant Christian can utter are the ones that form today’s verse. There is much satisfaction in heaven when these words are uttered by us humans, and even greater satisfaction when we abide by them.

This life we enter into from the time we are born, gradually presents us the ornaments of the evil one. They look beautiful and we are seduced; tip to toe. We start living horrendous lives, which of course to the world are, but ways of proving you are human. We wear the mantle of banality and immorality and get sucked into this quagmire more and more. Eventually the quagmire saps us bad, draining our very lives.

As the tide then changes with the repercussions of our sins fast catching up with us, many of us sink in the quagmire, and some even curse God for their situations. Of course God had nothing to do with it, rather His Spirit always gently utters the soft words of what is right in our ears but we quickly shut Him off. But happy those who midst their afflictions realize they have Someone to go to who can heal them and their situations. They rise up and utter the words of the verse and then God heals.

Turning again to the Lord is a thing of great joy unto Heaven and let me tell you, no matter what, God is always willing to listen to a repentant heart. Shut the sinful past and walk in the future with God. You will find rest for your soul.
