Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Ezek. 16:62. And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Humanity must exult and rejoice and praise God because throughout history God, although very angry and frustrated with men, has never ceased to apply His mercy upon us.
Right from the time Adam fell and became estranged with God, because he wanted to be like God, man has repeatedly sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. We know that the earth is filled with the glory of God and the heavens continuously declare His glory. There is no place in creation, which is far from His glory. Yet, the irony is, we have fallen short of His glory. Not that His glory eschews us but that, we try to escape and hide from it, the way Adam and Eve hid when they heard the voice of God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.
Why do we do this? I believe it is because we are scared. Before such splendor, we are bound to fail because we ensconce ourselves with dirt. Because, we know He loves us and therefore we are ashamed to look Him in the face. But despite all this, God does not veer away from us. In fact, He says, ‘I have come to seek and save the lost!’ Oh what love doth our God have for us that He being so splendorous bends down in the dirt we are, to lift us up and bestow upon us, His splendor.
The best part my friend is, when we have wallowed in sin and misery and after we have experienced His chastening, He says: I will establish my covenant with you and you will know that I am God. See He will never allow us to be away from Him forever. Rather He will do what it takes to bring us to Him. He loves us that much. His anger lasts for a while, but His mercy extends forever. Look therefore at His face and be radiant.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
