Thoughts for another day

March 15, 2007

Today's verse: Ps. 139:16. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (NIV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

As we approach another weekend, we would have many plans. Some pure and some not. We hardly know how the day will open up and what will happen in it. And for those of us who are facing some kind of test, we don’t even know how it will go. Will we pass; will we not? Doubt. Uncertainty. Feebleness infinite, that’s what we are. But when it comes to God, He knows it all. In Ps. 139, a beautiful psalm, where David acknowledges God’s omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence, we learn of God’s tremendous ability. Friends, we must remember that God is able. In any situation. At any time. And the best part is, He knows everything. Question is do we know that He knows and is in control?

Would remembering this help us? Before coming to it, let me say that God loves us beyond our imagination and He is there to help whenever we call, and in any situation of life, particularly, when we take the Name of His Son, Jesus Christ. Put this in your mind and seal it. We also know God is able. Now, remembering that He loves us and likes to help us, we can confidently call Him in times of difficulty. And if we hold on to our faith in that situation He will help us. No matter how hard the problem, He can solve it, because He is able. Terminal cancer? God can halt it and reverse it. AIDS? God can undo its effect. Job or financial loss? God can cause a gain in that situation. And so on. I too am holding on to Him for something very very difficult and you know what? I know that He has done it. In time, He will open it up and give it to me in the physical. The time could be now. I don’t know but I know that He knows it and that’s enough.

Our faith has to be unwavering. Why shouldn’t it? When you know your God; and you know that the days ordained for you were written in His book even before you were born, where is the need to falter in life. Like David we move on. Very sure in life but not acting until we hearing the sound of His footsteps walking ahead. Then Victory will be ours.
