Thoughts for another day

September 26, 2006

Today's verse: Ps 19:1. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. (KJV)

There is a question that haunts most Christians around the world. It is: ‘How to discover God.’ Some holy men and women have made much headway in discovering the Father and are making progress even more and more. But the most progress you can make is by asking Him to reveal Himself to you.

In your quest of discovering God, you may never come to a point of seeing Him or even understanding His profile. It is enough for us mortals to be just able to experience His presence in our lives in whatever form He chooses to be in, even maybe by the hint of a scarce perfume in our nostrils, or the rainbow in the sky.

A beginning can be made, by beholding His creation. Paul says, in Romans 1:20, For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made. A look at nature and the immenseness of the universe in the night sky will tell you a lot about our God. Rightly has David said, that the heavens declare the glory of God and the skies show His work. Read Job chpts. 38 – 41 to understand the work of God. God Himself will tell you certain things about Himself.

My beloved in Christ, God is so immense and pure that He cannot make Himself be perceived by us the way we are. Yes, eventually, we will behold Him with our eyes and commune with Him and be one with Him. Just a trickle of His power can uphold the entire universe. Perhaps a trillionth fraction of it is enough to sustain your and my life. Until then, look around and behold Him, even in that little urchin on the road stretching forth his hand toward you for a little coin!
