Thoughts for another day

June 14, 2006

Today's verse: Mk 5:19. Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. (KJV).

Among the things the Lord likes us to do, is one very crucial thing and that is proclaiming His goodness. That way He is given much glory. And He is accorded the honor that He deserves.

Our God is a jealous God (Ex. 20:5) and since He is the Creator of all, He alone has to become the sole recipient of the glory we give. For He alone has the power to do all things. Paul says, He brings to existence that which does not exist and definitely, this God has to have all the glory for surely He deserves it.

Apart from this, God wants those who do not know Him to get to know Him. One key thing that He wants all to know is the salvation that He brings. Besides, He also brings healing to His people and God wants us to know that too. Which is why Jesus exhorts the ex-possessed man in today’s verse to go and tell his friends how the Lord has done great things for him and had compassion on Him. Such is the mercy of our God and such is His way. There never was one who was more compassionate as our God and healed, as did Jesus when He walked the face of the earth.

If you have received any healing, turn your face to God and glorify Him. Remember, He has healed you and He will heal you and all those who turn to Him in repentance. Revere Him and let His deeds be known.
